These cupcakes. I look forward to these every year. Thank you, Nancy!

What, is this my fourth year doing the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale? Fifth? Yeah, fifth. Well, it’s my fourth year with this group of Portland do-gooders, and it’s just getting bigger every year. More people involved, more cupcakes and pizza rolls, and more funds raised for nonprofits. It’s one of my favorite events because it’s just so positive.

We always try to split our funds between a couple of beneficiaries, so we can spread it out to animals and people. This year, our animal foundation is Wildwood Farm Sanctuary, in Newberg, Oregon, and or human foundation is Sisters of the Road, a homeless resource center in Portland. They’re working on a new garden project, so we’re going to help them get that funded, so they can help the community feed itself.

More info here on our website. And if you want to bake or volunteer—or lend us a folding table for the day, add yourself to this sheet. And thank you!

The official window for the Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale campaign is coming up, but I’m sure you have enough time to organize one in your neighborhood. Check the Global HQ website to see if someone’s already got one going. And a city can handle more than one—I think Portland has three this year. We’ve got plenty of bellies for plenty of treats.

Let’s go do some good.
